PRODEL has framed a thermal output of 40 central park, 7 of which are central turbines, characterized by use turbines as primary drive machines of rotors of alternators.
Remember that thermal power plants are facilities designed to transform into electricity the resulting heat energy from burning fuels that can be solid (coal), liquid (diesel and jet) or gaseous (natural gas). However, the fuel currently in use in PRODEL for the production of electricity is diesel and jet B.
PRODEL employs Thermal Power turbines, mainly in places with high load concentration to eliminate the need for electricity in the region, operating in island or interconnected in the system.
The Central turbines are grouped by regions and are present only in the North and Cabinda, specifically in the provinces of Luanda and Cabinda.
