Who we are

Public Electricity Production Enterprise EP, abbreviated PRODEL, EP was created through Presidential Decree No. 305/14 of 20 November, as a result of the termination of public companies ENE - National Electricity Company, E.P and EDEL -  Electricity Distribution Company E.P, is responsible for operating, in public service system, the power stations.

PRODEL-E.P. is a strategic interest company, with legal personality, administrative, financial, patrimonial and management autonomy, and is governed by the Organic Statute approved by Decree No. 305/14 of 20 November, by supplementary implementing regulations, and legislation applicable to public enterprises and in what is not specifically regulated by the rules of commercial law and other rules of private laws.

The company's main objective is the production of electricity under the Public Electricity System (SEP), in the terms and conditions of the respective concessions or licenses.

The Presidential Decree No. 61/15, of 5 March, appoints the Board of Directors of Public Company of Electricity Production, PRODEL-EP, with the following composition:
