55th ANNIVERSARY OF THE CAMBAMBE DAM

Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to celebrate today the fifty-fifth anniversary of the Cambambe Hydroelectric Plant, one of the most important electricity generation centers in the country. For this reason, the PRODEL Board of Directors hereby congratulates, on behalf of all employees, the collective of employees of the Hydroelectric Plant of Cambambe.

We have celebrated this date since October 6, 1963, when the Cambambe Hydroelectric Plant was inaugurated, with an installed capacity of 180MW, distributed by four hydroelectric generating groups. With the aim of improving the quality of services, the Cambambe Hydroelectric Plant has undergone over the years works for its expansion and modernization, the deepest one culminated with the dam's elevation, which allowed an increase of 20 MW in each generating group of the plant I, totaling 260 MW, and contemplated a plan of training and qualification of Staff members. In parallel, construction of the second power station with an installed capacity of 7OOMW was started, making the Cambambe Hydroelectric Plant currently with 960 MW of production, although for a short time the largest hydroelectric plant in Angola, thus allowing a considerable increase in the level of electric power production in the entire country.
In order to respond satisfactorily to the dynamics of the growth of electricity production in Angola, the Board of Directors of PRODEL-EP once again encourages the collective of workers to continue to honor with the professional commitment that has been characteristic in the execution of the tasks and that consequently has allowed the improvement of the working and social conditions offered to the workers. We have followed the development of the good work carried out by the Cambambe Hydroelectric Plant during preventive and corrective maintenance, which has increased the availability levels of the generator sets, as well as all the other plants and support areas of the Company. It has been a reason for our satisfaction and has resulted in the improvement of our service provision, whose gains are borne by all PRODEL-EP employees, in particular, and the country as a whole. This is how we congratulate you on the historic milestones you have achieved. Congratulations on another birthday. May your efforts continue to bear fruit.
